The Light Box: Courage Through the Lens

What does photography have to do with courage? Everything.

Every time I step out with my camera, I step out of my comfort zone. Whether I’m wandering the streets of Idaho or Japan, I’m not just snapping photos—I’m building bridges. Each face you see in my photos represents a moment of connection, a conversation that wasn’t guaranteed to happen. Some of these people are my friends or fellow comics; others are strangers who trusted me enough to let me capture a piece of their story.

That trust wasn’t given lightly. I had to break the ice, push through awkwardness, and earn it. That’s courage in action. It’s not about the camera—it’s about the mindset. It’s about stepping into uncertainty with the intention to create something meaningful, even when you’re not sure how it’ll be received.

Now imagine the power of bringing that kind of courage into your organization. Imagine the possibilities when your team feels empowered to connect, collaborate, and speak up. You don’t need a camera to do it, but you do need a framework for breaking down barriers and building trust. That’s where I come in.

Whether you’re looking to crush the competition, advance your mission, or simply create a culture where your people feel safe to bring their ideas forward, I can show you how. Photography taught me to see people, not just as subjects, but as partners in creativity. I’d love to teach your team to see that, too.

Live Large. Be Bold. Have Faith. Fear Nothing.

Let’s bring everyday courage to our world.
