courageous companies win!

i show you how to use everyday courage to conquer your world

Who are you?

“We support the ones who never hit pause, even when the rest of the world stops.”
”We empower the protectors and healers to thrive, not just survive.”
”We don’t just understand the mission—we live it, breathe it, back it.”

You’re in healthcare. The military. First responder. Who you are is what you do. You know what it’s like to always be ON. You’ve got no problem running into a burning building to save a cat. But you might be scared to go talk to your son’s principal. You can be a well established business or organization. Or you could just be starting out.

Have you been on LinkedIn lately? Every day, we’re bombarded with sage wisdom and knowledge. Systems and frameworks to turn our weaknesses into superpowers. Color-coded labels to pigeonhole our core traits and values. Nothing against all that, but why add layers of complexity to your already frenetic world?

Let’s cut to the chase. You love what you do, and you can answer the question “why were you born?” But you and your organization are playing it safe, doing the things you’ve always done, because that’s what you know, and that’s what works.

Meanwhile, competitors are watching you, probing your weaknesses, finding ways to catch you off guard, to knock you off your throne.

You need a simple way to stay on top, without having to completely restructure the HR department to keep the blue people and the green people away from each other.

The way I help you do this is through EVERYDAY COURAGE. We’ve all got it, we just need to unleash it by shaking things up a bit on a consistent basis. For instance, staging an open mic at your organization, to help your people become unafraid to speak up. Or throwing a mixer for the engineers and finance team. Asking your people, “why were you born?”

I’m sure you’ve got ideas of your own that’ll help you stir the pot. But it helps having an outsider bring a fresh perspective, doesn’t it? I’m that outsider, with the personality of an insider. I help you go from the safe place to the great place, where we get to live large, be bold, have faith, and fear nothing.

Who am I?

I’m a speaker/performer (not the kind you’ve ever heard of before). Corporate trainer. Courage catalyst. Based in Boise, I can work with you in person or virtually. Here, there, anywhere.

where did I come from?

I ran a managed IT services provider for 23 years, serving consumers and small businesses. Mac users and PC users. Networks. Help desk, that sort of thing.

I’m a photographer. I’ve been up in Blackhawks with the National Guard, on a plane with the US Army Parachute Team, the Golden Knights. I photographed them inside and outside the plane, though I’ve never jumped myself. I’ve shot the Army Ball, a handful of weddings, road trip stories for City Lifestyle magazine, old rusty junk in the desert.

I’m a writer and standup comic. Recently voted Boise’s most “Why Don’t You Just Give Up?” comic for the third year in a row. I haven’t even lived here three years.

Harmonica player. Recently took on my arch nemesis, the chromatic harp, that has frustrated me off and on for over forty years. But I’m doing it now. You should hear my Jimi Hendrix inspired version of SSB (Slight Return)!

I’m all of these things, some of these things, and none of these things. We’re all much more than the sum of our jobs, activities, and whoever we think we are at any given moment.

My mission

To identify, clarify, and amplify your core traits and values. To use those core traits and values, combined with everyday courage, to advance your mission, whether it’s personal or professional. To help you serve with greater purpose and bolder vision, individually and as a team.

Why I do it

Every one of us was born with a unique set of strengths and weaknesses. We all have a role to play. My passion is to make you succeed from where you are, using what you’ve got. Our moment in the sun is brief. Let’s not squander the opportunity to live large, be bold, have faith, and fear nothing.

Let’s talk.
