Boise’s Oldest Living Comic

“I was riding on the Mayflower when I thought I spotted some land.”

—Bob dylan’s 115th dream

I’ve been around for a while. I’m Boise’s oldest living comic. There used to be another guy who was even older, but he’s gone now. Not sure what happened to him. So how old am I? Well, I remember the Alamo, but not much else. The other thing I know is that sometimes the greatest value doesn’t come from wisdom or knowledge. It comes from entertainment. Letting go of all the day to day garbage and noise. Having a good time.

So I created “A Night You Won’t Remember, and Not Because You Can’t.” Originally targeting inmates at the local assisted living facility. It’s a variety show that includes standup comedy, a Jimi Hendrix-inspired rendition of SSB (Slight Return) on harmonica, and a hefty dose of everyday courage. I realized right away that it’s too good to limit to just old folks. Front line workers need a break from getting yelled at. Military and first responders deserve a getaway from always being on. People in health care don’t do much, but let’s lump them in, too.

The way this works is that the show (me) comes to your company or special event. You bring your people, I bring myself and my harmonicas. I give you all I’ve got, which is more than anyone else gets, except my wife. We’ll run the gamut of human emotions, especially but not limited to laughter. You’ll wish you had me on staff full time, but you can’t. You can have me once a month as your Standup as a Service (SaaS) provider, but that’s as far as I’ll go.

I’m sure you’d love to see some footage, to know exactly what you’re getting into. I don’t have much yet, so you’ll have to take a leap of faith. This is The Courage Inside, after all. You can watch my “Louis Katz Has Great Jeans” teaser below. It’s got a really nice view of my hat.

In the meanwhile, since you made it this far, I’ll be happy to do an “on the air” audition for you. Via Zoom. Call or text me to set it up.

All the best,

Louis
